Of all the gifts life has to offer, a loving mother is the greatest of them all.Vinaya Rao S
Gone are those days, where living for others and sacrificing ones own sweat and blood for their own bloodline… The present, is all about striking a balance between motherhood and your dreams.
Being a new mom, looking at my mother, who has been struggling from health issues and completely ignoring this fact, placing her entire efforts on looking after us, I have learnt one of the most significant lessons about being a mother that is :-
1. Firstly, take care of yourself only then can you care for the ones you love
As a mother, health should be our top priority, avoiding important health appointments or health concerns that have been troubling for a certain period of time, can only make situations worse for the people you love… So, do not hesitate to visit a doctor if you have to.
2. Make time for yourself
Just 1 hour is enough to do what you love to do. Bring in some physical activity like zumba, yoga, etc. in your life other than your usual errands, this can not only restore your health, but keep you mentally prepared for the rest of the day.
3. “Multi-Tasking, ” our mom’s did it, but I’m not good at it?
That’s OK, being a mom is a different story for every woman, which means handling and managing also differs from person to person. The point is by the end of the day priorities are met and the job is done. How you do it? That’s upto you.
4. Sacrifice is necessary, only when necessary!
As a mom of today, motherhood and career go hand in hand. There are times when we need to let go of our dreams to completly give into motherhood… But thanks to today, advancement of technology and digital media, career options are available at the comfort of your time and space, making it much easier for working women to continue working and balance their life at home.
5. Just like New Age Moms we have The New Age Dads
Playing an active role as a father and bringing your partner into the role of child care at the early stages of being parents is very crucial today. Nowadays, both husband and wives are working in most households, so working together even when at home and caring for kids makes a huge difference for both parents and kids. This creates an environment where a child views their parents relationship as healthy, without any prejudice or discrimination.
